R&D Coordinator (m/f/d)

LuxScan Technologies is a world-wide leader in the design, development and installation of industrial scanners for automation in the timber industry. Our Company is part of the German Weinig Group, which is producing machines and systems for solid wood and panel production.

We are looking for a talented, skilled and motivated R&D Coordinator (m/f/d) for working in the development of Scanning systems, in an International environment.

Such systems consist in a computer cluster able to process images acquired in real time from multiple cameras. Defects are automatically identified thanks to Real Time image processing, highly based on Neural Network algorithms. Optimal cutting pattern is computed and sent automatically to the production line.

Our R&D team is made of 10-15 engineers or doctors working on the following fields: software, automation, mechanical design, electrical and electronical design. You will assist our R&D Manager in the daily management of the activity. Your tasks will be multiple and varied, and include in particular:

• Projects follow-up, schedules and dead lines
• Writing specifications and reports
• Support to sales and services teams (new machines or upgrades)
• Interface for production on standard projects
• Interaction with suppliers, partners, and sister companies
• Reporting to the central R&D department of our head quarter Weinig
• Participation in central R&D working groups

• Master degree or PhD in computer sciences or automation
• A proven practice in software development
• Good communication and writing skills, good interpersonal skills
• English is mandatory (French & German would be a plus)
• Project and schedule management
• Few years of experience in development
• Young graduate could be considered assuming:
  A solid background in software/automation/mechanics
  A strong appeal for technology in general.

• Experience in machine design
• Engineering background
• 2/3 years of expertise in a similar position
• Fields of knowledge: mechanical, electrical, automation/PLC, computers, sensors, image processing, deep learning

• You are open minded and ready to work in a multicultural environment
